The comfortable ‘William Thomas Room’ is a large second floor corner room with windows on three sides. The room takes it name from an early 18th century Great Valley House owner, William Thomas. Thomas was proud of his home and left behind his initials, ‘W. T.’ and the date ‘1812’ carved in the massive Old Kitchen mantle. Make sure and look for this remembrance of the past while enjoying breakfast in the earliest part of the house, dating to 1690.
The William Thomas Room is a lovely room featuring a beautiful old fashioned iron double bed plus an in-room sitting area with comfortable camel-back sofa and wing-back chair for watching TV or reading. The sofa opens to queen-size if additional sleeping is required. Vintage quilts and pillows add to the overall warmth and welcoming feeling of the room. There is also an antique table, chairs and desk for quiet reading. One of the walls is covered by bookcases filled with interesting books for guests to enjoy.
